When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. (Isaiah 43:2)

Water plays an incredibly prominent role in the story of the Bible. There’s Noah’s flood, Jonah’s whale, Moses and the Nile, the people of Israel and the Red Sea, Joshua and the Jordan, Elijah’s brook, Namaan’s dip, Jesus’ walk on the Sea of Galilee, the disciple’s storm, and Peter’s fish.

God’s people often find themselves in hot water! Well, not necessarily hot . . . but water, nonetheless. The good news is that when God’s people find themselves walking through water, they can rest assured that the situation is temporary.

You may have to walk through water, but you don’t have to live in water.

When you pass through the waters. You’re just passing through. You’re not supposed to live in that tribulation. It’s not permanent, its temporary! This too shall pass, as they say. You’ve just got to keep walking.

The only thing that can prevent you from passing through the waters is if you stop walking. You’re not supposed to stand in the waters, you’re supposed to pass through the waters. And you will pass through if you just keep moving forward. Just keep stepping until your feet hit dry land!

God never promised us that we would not have to walk through water. Instead, he promised that he would be with us. And that promise makes all the difference!
