We approach the drama of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as historical outsiders.
We read about it, we study it, and we reflect upon the meaning of these events and draw out insights that encourage our walk with God. But each of the disciples who walked with Jesus was forced to play a role in this drama that they did not wish to play. For us passion week is the re-enactment of a historical drama that has become the center of our faith. For them it was a living nightmare that they couldn’t see their way through. And so, for the disciples, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus was the ultimate sifting experience that brought their faith and their flesh into mortal conflict, and in the end only one would survive.
I’d like to share my Easter message with you in the hopes that it will bless and encourage you in your walk with Christ. You can find it here: The Sifter
